The world of tea offers multiple health benefits, including helping your body burn fat and maintain a healthy weight. Both the caffeine content and the potent antioxidants in tea help play a role in weight management and fat burning. All types of tea (black tea, green tea, white tea, and oolong) come from the same plant, and even though the caffeine and antioxidant levels will vary, all teas are considered to be some of the healthiest beverages in the world. Tea is significantly better for managing weight than diet soda, and teas of all kinds help prevent serious diseases.

All of these recipes are quick to prepare and are perfect for people on the go. For best results, enjoy these recipes unsweetened. Enjoying tea without sweetener will train your palate to appreciate diverse flavors, and you will actually start to lose your cravings for sweet flavors. If you want to add a hint of sweetness, try crushing some fresh berries, pineapple chunks, or orange slices, rather than adding sugar or honey.
White Tea Citrus Cooler
This recipe uses white tea, the least processed and most delicate of all the tea varieties. It also calls for fresh lemongrass, a natural digestive aid, and lime juice, a metabolism booster.
You will need:
Boil the 2 cups of water, remove from the heat, and let it cool for 2 minutes.
Add the White Peony tea and steep it for 2 minutes.
Strain out the tea leaves.
In a high-speed blender, place the White Peony tea, and fresh lemongrass. Blend at high speed until the lemongrass is pulverized.
Place a strainer over a glass jar and pour the lemongrass/tea mixture through the strainer, to catch all of the lemongrass fibers.
Stir in the lime juice.
Take the sprig of fresh mint and bruise the leaves slightly by “spanking” them between your palms. Place the mint sprig in your glass, pour in the tea, chill, and enjoy.

This brew is a blend of Lucky Morning Spice, with fresh ginger and orange. (Note: if you don't have any Lucky Morning Spice on hand, you can use plain Darjeeling or other black tea with a pinch of cinnamon and cardamom.) Lucky Morning Spice contains antioxidant-rich Darjeeling black tea, with inflammation-fighting turmeric and other spices. Fresh ginger adds a flavor kick, along with natural pain relief, and the fresh orange is sweet and loaded with vitamin C. Turmeric is a liver tonic, and both turmeric and ginger aid in the breakdown and metabolism of fats. Black tea helps with sugar balance, as do many of the spices in the tea blend, making this drink a perfect way to beat sweet cravings, and boost your energy.
Steep 2 teaspoons Lucky Morning Spice in 2 cups of hot water for 3 to 5 minutes. Strain out the tea leaves, pour the tea into a glass mason jar, and add a few slices of fresh ginger root, and a few freshly sliced orange rounds. As the tea cools, the ginger and the orange flavors will infuse into the tea. Serve over ice in chilled glasses.

Oolong Fat Burner
Of all the different tea varieties, oolong tea is believed to be the most effective fat burner. When combined with cleansing cucumber, energizing ginger, and alkalizing lemon, the only thing you’ve got to lose is inches!
Steep 2 teaspoons of Ti Quan Yin Oolong in 2 cups of hot water for 3 minutes. Strain and chill.
In a glass mason jar, place a few cucumber slices, fresh lemon rounds, and a 1” piece of fresh ginger root, peeled. Lightly pound them with a wooden spoon; this is called “muddling”, and it releases their aroma, flavors, and health benefits. Pour the chilled Ti Quan Yin Oolong in the jar, give it a good shake to mix, and enjoy.

Matcha Zoom Juice
Of all the green teas, Matcha contains the highest amounts of both antioxidants and caffeine. With the addition of raw cacao and cinnamon, this concoction packs a real punch. Cacao, the natural, unsweetened form of chocolate, is one of the richest sources of beneficial antioxidants. It’s extremely energizing, and is also naturally antidepressant. Cinnamon helps balance blood sugar, and is believed to be helpful for controlling cholesterol.
In a mason jar or small blender, combine 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ to 1 teaspoon of Matcha powder, ½ to 1 teaspoon of raw cacao powder, and a pinch of cinnamon. Blend in the blender, or shake it vigorously if you’re making it in a mason jar. Add ice if you like it chilly.
Adjust the amounts of Matcha and cacao to suit your personal preferences. If you’ve never had Matcha before, start with ½ teaspoon. It has more caffeine than a regular cup of green tea, so start low and adjust based on what your body likes.

Question, I prefer to cold brew my tea in the refigerator. Should I put the fruit or ginger in the tea when I put in the tea leaves? I wasn’t sure if the flavors would diffuse into the tea as well. I start with room temperature water.

Good question, no it doesn’t contain peonies. This is a white tea, and is named after the peony because of the way the tea resembles a peony in bloom when the tea steeps.
Is white peony tea really made from white peonies?
