The proper and full name of this tea is Iron Goddess Ti Quan Yin Slimming Oolong Tea. In China, many qualities are attributed to this tea, including weight loss, cholesterol management, and helping the body prepare for martial arts practice. The flavor is complex and subtle, and not easy to describe, because you experience the flavor and aroma together in layers. There are floral elements, an earthy fullness, expansive lightness, soft fragrance, and notes that are both sweet and refreshing. You haven't lived until you've tried it.
Brewing instructions: steep 1 teaspoon Ti Quan Yin in 1 cup hot water for 2 - 3 minutes. Adjust amounts and steeping times to personal preference. Most Oolong leaves can be steeped multiple times, and Ti Quan Yin is no exception. The large leaves slowly unfold in the hot water; this opening is poetically called "the agony of the leaf". Brew it in a clear mug to watch it all happen. You will gain a new appreciation for fine tea.
