When to drink it

This latte is best enjoyed in the evening while winding down for the night. We especially love it after dinner, during a cozy reading session, or while watching your favorite comfort show. Don’t forget to make a cup for your partner as well!

Simple Adjustments

  • Use oat milk for an extra creamy latte
  • Add extra spices like cardamom if you love a spice-rich flavor
  • Use maple syrup instead of honey if preferred
  • Froth your milk first, or everything together if you want a café-style feel at home
  • Add ice if an iced latte is more your thing

About the Cortisol Evening Tea

This recipe uses our Cortisol Evening Tea, which is a blend of nervine and adaptogenic herbs that nourish and calm your nervous system, support a healthy stress response, lower high cortisol levels, and ease tension in the body.

The Cortisol Evening Tea alone has a very neutral herbal flavor, so it pairs well with delicious spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. Plus, Nutmeg, cinnamon, and warm milk are natural sleep aids all on their own.

Why Nutmeg at Night?

Nutmeg has been used for centuries in nighttime drinks and herbal remedies because of its naturally calming properties.

Research suggests nutmeg contains compounds like myristicin, which may help support relaxation by interacting with neurotransmitters involved in mood, stress, and sleep regulation. Some studies have also found that nutmeg may help calm the nervous system and support deeper, more restful sleep when consumed in small amounts before bed.

That’s part of why warm milk with nutmeg has been a traditional bedtime drink for generations.
