My inspiration for creating Lucky Morning Spice tea happened in June of 2012 when I was in the car driving back to to Phoenix from Las Vegas.
We had just attended the World Tea Expo, a gathering of tea growers and producers from all around the world, in order to learn more about the world of tea.
I really didn’t know much about black tea and green tea before then, and the trip was eye opening. I talked to tea experts from China, India, and Japan, and experienced a wide range of flavors from the multitude of tea varieties on display. Up to that point in 2012, all of my tea blends were herbal, only occasionally using tea as an ingredient for its medicinal action. I was excited to begin incorporating and featuring tea leaves into my blends.
I sat in the passenger seat as we drove through the desert, jotting down notes and ideas for new tea blends.
And that is how Lucky Morning Spice was created.
This tea is a refreshing blend of fragrant Darjeeling black tea and Indian spices. It’s not just an energizing way to begin your day. In India, many herbs and spices are considered to be lucky. It’s believed that after ingesting certain spices, the luck of that spice is imparted to the user. The ingredients in this tea are considered to be lucky, and are reputed to help the user attract wealth, make friends, and open doors. If you’re curious and want to see for yourself it it actually works, drink it first thing in the morning to start your day. Drink a cup every morning for 30 days, and as you inhale the aroma and sip your tea, fill your mind with thoughts of luck, good fortune, and a clear path ahead.
Even if the lucky part isn’t true, Lucky Morning Spice certainly provides health benefits, energy, and antioxidants. It’s a perfect tea for people who practice morning yoga or other exercise. It’s also a tasty alternative to coffee.
The spices in the tea are hand-crushed right before blending to ensure intense fresh flavor.
Sip your tea like a true connoisseur and pay attention to these tasting notes:
Here are some of the many health benefits of the tea:
It’s an amazing hot tea but during the hot summer months, I LOVE making and serving this tea as a cold brew. This is the easiest way to brew tea: measure out a teaspoon of tea per cup of water. Using a quart sized mason jar, place 4 heaping teaspoons of Lucky Morning Spice into the jar. Fill the jar with cold water (yes, COLD or room temperature water), and let it steep in the refrigerator for several hours, or brew it right on your countertop for 30 minutes. Strain out the tea leaves, and enjoy.
Whether you believe in good luck charms, or simply believe in the healing power of nature and healthy living, it’s fun to try new things and expand your mind to consider new ideas. That’s what I did when I went to the World Tea Expo, and Lucky Morning Spice is one of the results of that trip.
