Slightly sweet, caffeine free South African tea
Rooibos is a type of tea that originates in South Africa, but has gained popularity around the world. Once you get past the initially awkward pronunciation ("roo-bee-ose"? "roo-ee-bose"? "roy-boss"?) you'll realize that this is a keeper, no matter how you say it. It has an antioxidant content similar to Green tea, but without any caffeine, making this drinkable any time of the day or night. Rooibos is being studied for potential anti-inflammatory benefits, which is a big perk. With its mild, somewhat sweet (not sugary) flavor, and multiple health benefits, Rooibos just might be your new fave.
Caffeine levels: none
Tasting notes: nutty, slightly sweet, with a hint of soft smokiness
Steep 1 - 3 teaspoons Rooibos in 8 oz. hot water for 3 - 5 minutes. Adjust amounts and steeping times to personal preference. Sweeten and add milk or cream if that's what you're in the mood for.

This isn’t what I was expecting based on the description. I didn’t pick up anything that was described. To me this tea tastes like berries and had a natural sweetness to it. I tried it with a touch of milk and honey and it was good but I definitely taste berry notes. I usually drink vanilla rooibos or caramel rooibos but I didn’t want a flavored one this time so this one sounded perfect. I’m glad it doesn’t have added flavor and I’ll keep drinking it but I haven’t decided if I’d repurchase it. I generally don’t seek out berry teas. Definitely try it and see what you taste!
I absolutely LOVE the Red Rooibos! Thank you!!
