Although the tea sounds dangerous (or exciting!), Gunpowder Green Tea got its English name from its resemblance to grains of actual gunpowder. The tea leaves are rolled into little pellets, or "pearls", as they're referred to in China. When you pour hot water over the leaves, they jiggle, wiggle, and pop as they unroll and start releasing their magic. Brewing instructions:
Steep 1 teaspoon Gunpowder in 8 ounces hot water (170 degrees, ideally) for 1 - 3 minutes. Avoid over-steeping, but definitely reuse the leaves at least one more time before discarding them.

We do our best to create consistency in flavor and leaf cut, but there may occasionally be slight variations, depending on the time of harvest, or other factors. These slight differences shouldn’t be noticeable to the overall flavor and benefits of the product.

Yes! In fact, we encourage steeping your tea leaves more than once to explore how our teas change each time you brew them. However, we do recommend adding another minute or two to your total steep time with every new brew.
HOW LONG DOESÂ LOOSE LEAF TEAÂ STAY FRESH?
From the date of purchase, your loose leaf tea will be at peak freshness for a year. We are obsessed with freshness and potency, which is why we make each blend in small batches in our tea store in Phoenix, Arizona.
