tea infused recipe for brain health

Here is a yummy recipe that we like to call Genius Juice to beat brain fog, sharpen your mental focus, boost your mood, and help you feel energized without caffeine. The recipe is made with a combination of a brain-boosting herbal tea along with fruits and veggies that lift your mood, support your brain, relieve inflammation, and protect your vision.

You will use your blender and your juicer for this recipe.

You will need:

  • 2 cups of freshly brewed An Elephant Never Forgets tea OR 2 cups of of this herbal blend: gotu kola, ginkgo, rosemary, and peppermint
  • 1 large mango
  • 2 organic apples, cored
  • 1 lemon, 1 lime
  • 2 organic carrots
  • 1 bunch of organic celery, trimmed and washed
  • a few slices of fresh jalapeño (optional)

Foods that are good for your brain

To prepare:

  1. Brew the tea by steeping a tablespoon of An Elephant Never Forgets (or the DIY combo listed above) for 10 – 15 minutes.
  2. While the tea steeps, peel the mango and cut into cubes.
  3. In your blender, combine the tea and the mango, and blend on high speed until the mango is a fine puree. Place into a pitcher.
  4. In your juicer, juice the apples, lemon, lime, carrots, and, if you’re feeling adventurous, the jalapeño.
  5. Add this juice to the tea and mango mixture, and stir well to combine.

Drink in the morning to kick-start your day, or before you study for a big exam, to give yourself a competitive edge.

Here are some of the amazing health benefits of the ingredients in this recipe:

  • The tea contains ginkgo and gotu kola, which have been heavily researched for their ability to promote memory, focus, and brain health
  • Mangoes and carrots are great for your eyes, and their high antioxidant levels help protect the body from disease
  • Apples are a heart-healthy fruit, and have also shown promise in protecting brain health
  • Celery reduces inflammation, improves gut health, and reduces your risk for neuro-degenerative diseases
  • We added a little jalapeño in the recipe because spicy chili peppers are a superfood for your brain. Consuming jalapeños, cayenne, and other spicy members of the chili pepper family, all trigger a release of feel-good endorphins, helping you feel more confident and positive.

Enjoy!

You Will Love This Tea-Infused Red White & Blue Popsicle Recipe!

June 19, 2021

I was talking with a friend of mine about fun ways to incorporate tasty teas into some fun summer treats, and since July 4th is right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to make a red white and blue layered popsicle. I knew which teas could create the different colored layers, and put some thought into the flavors that I wanted to incorporate, so that the layered flavors harmonized with each other. The final product turned out great; it was sweet, tart, with a hint of lemony creaminess, and softened with lemongrass and lavender.
