I am sure you will agree, life it too short to drink boring tea. This tea is anything but boring. I combined the lovely flavor of jasmine green tea with tart hibiscus, fragrant lemongrass, and earthy butterfly blue pea flower. I personally didn't sweeten my tea, but I have included maple syrup in the recipe, because most people do enjoy a little bit of sweet flavor in their iced tea. Feel free to play around with the proportions and types of sweetener. You can always substitute stevia for the maple syrup, honey, agave, coconut sugar, or evaporated cane juice.
For an extra bonus, the ingredients in this tea are also loaded with health benefits, including:
- High in anti-aging antioxidants
- Soothing to the stomach
- Supports healthy blood pressure
- Gives the mood a lift
- Calms stress
- Super hydrating on a hot day
- Naturally cooling to the body
- Caffeine levels - very low
Without further ado, here is the recipe...
You will need:
1 tsp jasmine green tea
1 tsp hibiscus
1 tsp butterfly blue pea flower
1 tsp lemongrass
2 cups of hot water, separate
2 tsp maple syrup (optional) and fresh squeezed lemon juice (also optional)

In one cup of hot water, steep the hibiscus and jasmine green tea together for 2 to 3 minutes, then strain out the tea leaves. If you're sweetening your tea, stir in a teaspoon of maple syrup now.
Buy Organic Butterfly Blue Pea Flowers Here
In the other cup of water, steep the butterfly blue pea flower and the lemongrass together for 3-4 minutes. Strain out the tea leaves. If you’re using maple syrup, stir in a teaspoon of that while it’s hot.
Let the tea cool in the refrigerator.
Now comes the fun part!
Fill a tall iced tea glass with ice. Pour some of the hibiscus-jasmine tea into the glass, about half full.
Next, pour in the butterfly blue pea flower-lemongrass tea on top of that. The red and the blue teas will mix in the middle. For a dramatic finale, squeeze a touch of fresh lemon juice on top!
Yummy, hydrating, easy to make, and FUN!
This is the finished product
