White Tea Herbal Sparkler: A Recipe for Radiant Health
Serves 4 people
You Will Need:
- 2 teaspoons white peony tea leaves
- 1 cup of hot water
- A lemon, cut into slices
- A lime, cut into slices
- 2 sprigs of fresh mint
- 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
- 4 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 1 small cucumber, cut into slices
- Sparkling water (unflavored is what we used but lemon or grapefruit sparkling water would also be really nice)
- 1-2 teaspoons agave syrup (optional; we skipped the sweetener, but if you want to add a touch, go for it)
Helpful kitchen tools:
- Electric hot water kettle
- Loose leaf tea infuser
- Wooden muddler
- Fun ice cube trays
- Tall iced tea glasses
Instructions:
- Steep the Tea: Begin by steeping the 2 teaspoons of white peony tea leaves in 1 cup of hot water for 2 - 3 minutes. Once done, strain the tea and set it aside. If you're adding sweetener, stir that in now.
- Prepare the Fruits and Herbs: In the bottom of a tall glass, place several slices each of the lemon, lime, and cucumber. Add the thyme and mint leaves to the mix.
- Muddle: Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, gently muddle the fruits and herbs together until they release their natural juices and aromas. This process infuses the flavors into your drink, making each sip a burst of wellness.
- Ice and Pour: Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour about 1/4 cup of the strained white tea over the ice.
- Add the Sparkle: Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water, giving your drink that extra fizz and zing.
- Garnish: Finally, adorn your glass with a sprig of fresh rosemary for that final aromatic touch.Â
This White Tea Herbal Sparkler is more than just a refreshing beverage; it's an entire wellness experience.
