How we make it!

Fragrant, complex oolong tea

The proper and full name of this tea is Iron Goddess Ti Quan Yin Oolong Tea. The flavor is complex and subtle, and not easy to describe, because you experience the flavor and aroma together in layers. There are floral elements, an earthy fullness, expansive lightness, soft fragrance, and notes that are both sweet and refreshing.

With potential benefits spanning from weight management to cholesterol balance, this unique tea is an ally for those seeking a lifestyle of balance and well-being. Learn more about how oolong tea can help with weight loss.

Caffeine levels: medium

Tasting notes: complex, fragrant, with notes of grass, floral, and grapefruit

Brewing instructions:

Steep 1 teaspoon Ti Quan Yin in 1 cup hot water for 2 - 3 minutes. Adjust amounts and steeping times to personal preference. Most Oolong leaves can be steeped multiple times, and Ti Quan Yin is no exception. The large leaves slowly unfold in the hot water; this opening is poetically called "the agony of the leaf". Brew it in a clear mug to watch it all happen.

(note that this tea is also called tie guan yin tea; different spelling, same tea)

    Earthy and green

This tea isn’t my favorite but I’m not a fan of vegetal teas. This one is earthy and “green” tasting. The description mentions a grass flavor and I’d agree. I did not pick up on the floral or grapefruit notes. My husband loves teas like this but I do not. If you like me, skip this one.
