A New Year Tea Ritual For Health, Happiness, and Success

The quality of our daily lives is determined by the quality of our daily habits. When we write down our New Years goals and resolutions, they become reality when we develop the habits that can support them. In the simplest terms, it's the actions we take once we set our goals that matter most. 

 

January Reset Tea Ritual

 

I am a firm believer that there should be pleasure and enjoyment in our healthy habits. Eating healthy doesn't mean gnawing on hunks of raw broccoli, nor does exercise only mean going to the gym (unless you like going to the gym, in which case, you probably get plenty of exercise already). The path to achieving your goals will probably involve work, but it doesn't have to mean you won't enjoy the journey. 

So, to kickstart the New Year, and the new decade, I have created a simple and customizable tea ritual to help you focus on creating the kind of life that makes you feel excited to wake up to every day!

You will need:

A blank journal that you will dedicate to your writing down your goals and tracking your progress. (My fave journal is made by Design Works Ink.  You can buy it here.)

Your favorite tea 

At least thirty minutes uninterrupted YOU time (more, if you can swing it)

 

Choose a tea that makes you feel vibrant and alive and drink this when you map out your goals for the year. It might be Daily Detox, to support your incredible and amazing kidneys and liver. Or it might be Sleek & Slender, to support your efforts to live and eat healthy all the time. Spend some time writing down what you want to achieve this year. Include at least one goal that might seem impossible but is something you really want.

Sip your tea as you write. Allow the warmth of the tea to ignite and inspire your spirit as you take the time for yourself to be as intentional as possible.

An amazing thing happens when you drink your tea while writing down your goals in your journal. Your incredible brain will connect the aroma, flavor, and sensation of the tea experience with the positive and creative frame of mind that happens when you write down your dreams and goals! Whenever you drink your tea, you will be sending a signal to your brain and body that you are positive, capable, and creative. So, pick a tea that helps you feel like a winner, and drink it frequently. 

Going forward, at least once a week, brew another cup of your tea, pull out your journal and track your progress. What have you done to turn your dreams into reality? Did you have any wins? Coincidences? Dreams? Even if you made no progress at all, be honest with yourself, cut yourself a little slack for being human, and remind yourself that your goals are totally achievable with focus and dedication on your part. You might surprise yourself with what you're actually capable of!
