I love this time of year for the amazing fruits that are in season! In the last few weeks, I’ve found the juiciest, most delicious strawberries—and so, I was inspired to make this smoothie bowl. I love incorporating teas and superfoods into my smoothies, and so for this bowl, I used Strawberry Kiss green tea. (Feel free to substitute your favorite unflavored green tea for this recipe)

This refreshing smoothie bowl makes a light and energizing breakfast, or a healthy afternoon snack. Both strawberries and green tea have a surprising health benefit that you might not have known about before: both strawberries and green tea are great for your teeth and gums! Both contain compounds that kill the bacteria that causes plaque. Other health benefits from eating this smoothie bowl include:

  • lots of anti-aging antioxidants
  • healthy energizing fats
  • extra fiber for gut health
  • immune-boosting vitamin C

Let's Get Started!

Serves 2

You will need:

2 Young Thai Coconuts (flesh only, preferably frozen, chopped into small pieces for easy blending)

1 cup Strawberry Kiss chilled brewed tea (or other green tea) brewed at double strength

1.5 frozen bananas

2 tbsp. cashew butter or macadamia butter (if you have tree nut allergies, you can substitute sunflower butter)

1 cup fresh, ripe strawberries + a few extra to slice and garnish your bowl

¼ cup pure dark maple syrup

Chopped fresh peaches (garnish)

Chopped pistachios, walnuts, or macadamia nuts (garnish)

Dried shredded coconut (garnish)

Optional garnish: fresh edible flowers (you can also get organic dried edible flowers here)

Note: You might not have a few of these ingredients handy, such as the nut butters or the young Thai coconut meat, so here are the links for these harder-to-find ingredients:

In a food processor, combine the Strawberry Kiss with the frozen bananas and nut butter. Add in the maple syrup, strawberries, and coconut meat (do not add any coconut water, as this will make the filling too thin and turn it into an actual smoothie) and blend thoroughly until creamy. Pour into bowls. Layer with chopped fresh strawberries, peaches, nuts, and coconut, and serve.

Enjoy!
